Commission: Opus One Winery — Napa Valley, CA
February 9, 2023 | Opus One Winery, Oakville, CAKala was commissioned to create a site-specific sculptural installation for a 9-foot alcove in the stairwell at Opus One Winery. The work is a star map of constellations visible from the Opus One vineyards — designed in collaboration with metal fabricator Martin Munson. The framework houses low-voltage LED lights that backlight ceramic elements to suggest celestial bodies. Installation is slated for late spring 2023.
