Residency at Guldagergaard — Skælskør, Denmark

September | Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Center

During the month of September, Kala will be in residence at Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Center, one hour south of Copenhagen. Her focus will be mapping atmospheric events and exploring the specificity of place — experimenting with surface effects achieved in collaboration with rainwater, gravity, and time. Denmark's frequent rains and weather patterns, in stark contrast to Northern California, offer a rare opportunity to push deeper into these techniques and make work that is wholly rooted in this part of the world.
