Maui Tide

A 700-piece, hand formed porcelain installation brings clean, rhythmic energy to the built environment.

  • Installation for The Weston Maui Resort and Spa, KA’ANAPALI, Maui, commissioned by Leslie Ann Wigon Art & Design.  700 hand formed bowl-ish porcelain forms are clustered in groupings throughout the conference rooms to bring nature-inspired elements of the outdoors inside. The installation carries a sense of clean, rhythmic energy that is defined by the porcelain forms while maintaining a sophisticated, serene, ocean themed feel for this elevated Maui hotel.

  • Bowl forms were designed and thrown on the potters wheel, then sculpted to make unique plaster production molds. Clay is pressed into the plaster molds and formed to perfection with an undulating, soft rim. Once fired and glazed with a matte white glaze, stainless screws are epoxied into the backs to anchor into the wall for a secure and seamless installation.

  • Dimensions variable

    The bowl range from 3” - 6” diameter (7.5 cm x 15 cm)

Porcelain, glaze, stainless steel wall dog anchor screws
